Technicians in the Patrick Lab
Victoria Jenkins, Technician
In December 2017 I graduated from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi with a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a concentration in Marine Science. I have been volunteering in Dr. Christopher Patrick’s lab since February 2017 and a lab technician of his since September 2017. In his group, I have experience in the field and lab sampling fish and invertebrates, basic habitat assessment, and water sampling. I’ve also been instrumental in data organization and am in charge of managing the shared laboratory database. In addition to lab activities, I have prior field experience working with dolphins in Roatan, Honduras through the Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences internship in summer of 2017 as well as Puerto Aventuras, Mexico in 2015. My near-term career goal is to pursue a graduate degree in marine ecology, but I am currently a Smithsonian Fellow working on an experiment for the Thalassia Experimental Network. |
