I am a MS student at Texas A&M Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) in the Coastal Marine System Science program, working on my thesis and studying stream ecology in O’ahu, Hawaii under the direction of PhD. Chris Patrick. My focus is the collection, sorting, counting and interpretation of invertebrates as a primary indicator of stream health following the removal of non-native fish from streams in O’ahu.
The first in my family to complete a Bachelor degree program, I obtained my BS in Fisheries and Wildlife, specializing in aquatic ecosystem management with a minor in soil science, from Oregon State University in May 2016.
I love to kayak and scuba dive and have explored the Texas Gulf Coast for personal enjoyment as well as volunteering, field study and projects within the Laguna Madre, Port Aransas Nature Preserve, Welder Wildlife Refuge and Texas State Aquarium. I am also an avid horsewoman and like nothing better than to spend a few hours in the saddle when my work week is over.
In addition to my studies, I am a TA at TAMUCC and can be reached at [email protected]
